Dear future students of the degree courses in Applied Computer Science (Bachelor or Master) and Media Design Computing,

Heartiest Welcome to the course in the Department of Computer Science of Faculty IV – Business and Computer Science.

  • The Master's degree course in Applied Computer Science is accepting new students for the summer semester 2021. At the beginning of March 2021 (the exact date will be announced), an introductory event will take place in which you will receive more detailed information on the structure of the programme and the choice of specialisations.
  • The Bachelor's degree courses in Applied Computer Science and Media Design Computing will accept new students in winter semester 2021/22.

More detailed information will be published later in the Timetable.

The Department of Computer Science provides with information on starting their studies in a password-protected area (“Noticeboard”). You can access this area as soon as you are enrolled. If you already have an active user account at the university - you will usually receive this a few days or weeks before lectures begin - you can use this to access the protected area. However, you can and should also access the protected area as a "guest" beforehand. Here is how you can enter the area:

  • As a “guest” without the user account of the university.
Please visit the page https://moodle.hs-hannover.de/enrol/index.php?id=12406 and click on "Login anonymously". On the next page, look for "Guest access" and enter the key you received with your admission letter under "Guest key". The key begins with “key...". Now you have access to the protected area - a so-called "Moodle course". If you have not received the key, please write an email to f4-i-dekanat(at)hs-hannover.de.
  • With the user account of the university.
Please visit the page https://moodle.hs-hannover.de/enrol/index.php?id=12406 and log in with your user account. On the next page, look for “Self-enrolment (students)" and enter the key you received with your admission letter under “Enrolment key". The key begins with “key...". Now you have access to the protected area - a so-called "Moodle course". You can revisit this later by logging back in with your user account and clicking on Dashboard > My Courses > Semester-independent > EB Dept. I on the left. If you have not received the key, please write an email to f4-i-dekanat(at)hs-hannover.de.

In the above-mentioned Moodle course, access data for the various courses is published, among other things. If you have any further questions, please contact the Student Advisory Service of the Department of Computer Science.

All newly enrolled students are asked to contact the IT team of the Department of Computer Science (f4-i-support-it(at)hs-hannover.de). We need your signature on the terms of use of the computer network of the Department of Computer Science.

Many courses will probably be held in an online format in the summer semester 2021. Individual lectures will however require your presence at the premises of the Hochschule Hannover – University of Applied Sciences and Arts. It would certainly be useful if you acquire technical equipment before you start your courses that will enable you to participate smoothly in video conferences.

I wish you every success in your studies.

With best regards

Prof. Dr. Robert Garmann

Dean of Studies of the Department of Computer Science
